The Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Association Sunday School Convention was organized in the early 1950s by a young and determined evangelist, Elder T. M. Gardner, Jr. Elder Gardner appointed the following officers to serve this convention: Deacon J. R. Thompkins, President; Deacon W.  W. Williams, Vice President; Deacon W. M. Bracy, Treasurer; and Sister Brazil Johnson, Secretary. These officers served until later years and some until death. After Sister Brazil Johnson moved to another state, Sister Henrietta Gardner was elected as recording secretary. The convention saw the need for a financial secretary and elected Sister Thelma Davis. The fifteenth annual session was held in 1965. The officers were Deacon J. R. Thompkins, President; Deacon S. W. Williams, Vice President; Sister Thelma Davis, Recording Secretary; Sister Henrietta Gardner, Financial Secretary; Sister Louise Gardner, President of the Women’s Congress; Sister Grace Pringle, Treasurer of the women’s Congress; and Deacon Mingo Bracy, Convention Treasurer. In 1967, Sister Thelma Davis moved out of town and Sister Velma Rogers was added to this group of officers. In 1972, the officers were as follows: Deacon J. R. Thompkins, President; Deacon S. W. Williams, Vice President; Sister Velma Rogers, Recording Secretary; Sister Yvette Patterson, Financial Secretary; and Deacon W. M. Bracy, Treasurer. In 1975, the officers were as follows: Deacon Tom Osborne, President; Deacon Haigler Johnson, Vice President; Sister Velma Rogers, Recording Secretary; Sister Yvette Patterson, Financial Secretary; Deacon Harrison DeJournette, Treasurer. These officers remained in their respective positions until 1987. In 1987, Sister Shelah Wilson was elected as financial secretary and Sister America Daney was elected as treasurer. While other officers remained in their positions, Deacon Haigler Johnson resigned in 1993; Elder (then Deacon) David Oliver was elected as vice president. As Sister Wilson’s health began to fail, Sister Gwen Daniel was elected as financial secretary.

Presently, the officers of the Sunday School are: Deacon Tom Osborne, Sr., President; Deacon Darrell Jackson, Vice President; Sister Johnnie M. Brown, Recording Secretary; Sister Kayla Hatcher, Financial Secretary; Sister Eunice Wilson, Treasurer; Elder Elijah Weatherspoon, Dean; and Elder Lovell Jenkins, Assistant Dean.
